Our programs take place in Kespukwik, Mi’kma’ki, ancestral homeland of the Mi’kmaq people. This is unceded Mi’kmaq territory, and we recognize that we are settlers on this land. This land was never surrendered, and is recognized under The Peace and Friendship Treaties of 1726. As children play and learn here, we are thankful for the land and all that it has to offer. It is our hope that children reconnect with nature, create their own stories, and develop a reciprocal relationship with the land. We will strive to care for and heal this land as did the many generations of Mi’kmaq people who came before us and those here today.
